Labarr, Linda J.

-

Linda J. Labarr, affectionately known to her close friends and family as “Pita”, 72, of Plainville, CT, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore Schiavoni and Madeline (Shatola) Schiavoni, and loving wife to the late William E. Labarr, with whom she shared 46 beautiful years. Linda was born on August 28, 1951, in Bristol, CT. After graduation, Linda began a long and rewarding career as a Special Education Paraprofessional for the Plainville Board of Education. She took a strong interest in the students, and was so beloved, they continued to visit and contact her after they graduated. Linda was the epitome of kindness and generosity, never hesitating to help those who were less fortunate than herself. Linda loved visiting her family in Long Island and enjoying the chicken dinners put on by the local firehouse, going out to lunch and attending car shows with her brother, and was generally up for anything. She was an expert at “going with the flow”, and as long as those around her were happy and having a good time, that was enough for her. A few years ago, Linda was able to buy herself the first car she purchased without any outside influence. It was a red Mustang convertible, and she took a lot of pride in being able to do this on her own. Linda loved her sweets. She could always be found to have a few treats in her bag, from her favorite Ring Dings to various types of candy. There were always treats at home too, her favorites being Big Y Boston Cream donuts and assorted cookies. Linda will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, and dedication to those she loved. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Linda is survived by her daughter Stacey (Labarr) Beaupre, son-in-law Daniel Beaupre, two grandchildren, Mason and Logan Beaupre, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Linda is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Schiavoni and Richard Schiavoni. Family and friends may gather to pay their respects on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St. in Plainville, directly followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
