Donald A. Regina, 71, of Madison Wisconsin passed away on March 12, 2024 after battling cancer. Born on September 10, 1952 in Hartford, Connecticu­t, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Robinson) Regina. He was raised in Hartford and then Wethersfie­ld where he graduated from high school Magna Cum Laude. After high school he went on to study English and American Literature at Saint Michael's College and then received his Master's in British and American Literature from the University of Wisconsin.

Following college, Don had the good fortune of doing exactly what he knew he wanted to do. He joined the faculty of Edgewood High School, Madison where he had a 42-year career teaching courses including

British and American Literature, Creative Writing and Journalism. He was also the coach of the cross country team.

In summers, Don and his friend John worked on many carpentry projects together. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, sitting in the sun on the beach, listening to jazz and taking ballroom lessons. He also served as a companion with Big Brothers and Big Sister Sisters. He is survived by his son Nathan (Amanda) Regina of Appleton, Wisconsin, his brother Tom (Lynda) Regina and his niece Elisabeta (David) Isen all of Connecticu­t, his best friend John (Lorrie) Hylkema and his beloved Heidi Nass and her daughters Abigail, Mia and Anna. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace in Madison. A grave side service will be held at a later date when Don will be buried with his parents in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Connecticu­t.
