-

Christine M. Ratti, a lifelong resident of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, at the age of 97. Born on August 9, 1926, to the late Max J. Schaller and Helen H. (Rockwell) Schaller, Christine's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and quiet strength. Christine met the love of her life, Peter Ratti whom she married on May 14th. He then, in 1948, built them a house in Hebron. Together they built a life rich in love and partnership that lasted 74 years until Peter's passing. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Bruce and Donald. Christine's legacy extends to her family Bruce Peter Ratti Jr and his spouse Katarzyna, Josh, Justin, and her great-grandchildren Lexi Rose, Nathan, Logan, and Damon. She was a central figure in the lives of her extended family, which includes Theresa Ratti and M. David Davis of Hattiesburg, MS; Patsy and Earl Lange of Southport, NC; Mary Ratti and Linwood Clark of Oak Island, NC; Michelle and Pam Ratti Jr of Watkinsville, GA, along with their children Jennifer and Shane Martin, and Heather and Manny Diaz; Cora and Zane Roberts of Destin, FL, and their children Zane Michael, Rachel, and Chris Wheeler; Margaret and Robert Houlihan of Woodstock, CT, and their children Katelyn, Megan, Patrick, and Tessa; and John Mckenna of Trout Run, PA, along with his children Alex, Randi, Karleigh, Tori, Talon, and Summer. She worked at Cheney Brothers in the textiles division, where her craftsmanship was evident. Her skills in sewing and crochet were not just a means of livelihood but also something she lovingly shared with her family and friends. She found joy in cooking meals that brought everyone together around the table. Christine's presence will be profoundly missed by her family, who take comfort in the knowledge that she has been reunited with her beloved husband, Peter, and her parents, Max and Helen. Her spirit, characterized by compassion and kindness, will forever be a guiding light for her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As we bid farewell to Christine M. Ratti, we celebrate a life well-lived and well-loved. Her journey was one of purpose and joy, and though she has departed from this world, the echoes of her laughter and the wisdom of her words will resonate for generations to come. Calling Hours will be held at Holmes Watkins Funeral Home, located at 400 Main Street, Manchester CT 06040 on Friday, April 12th, 2024 from 4pm till 6pm.
