Margaret (Flis) Mikulski, 86, of Middletown, wife of the late Paul Mikulski, passed away on Thursday April 4, 2024, at her home. She was born in New Britain, daughter of the late John M. and Jean (Grzegorczy­k) Flis. Margaret was employed as a telephone operator for SNET until retirement. Margaret was a regular volunteer at Middlesex Hospital and an active member of St. Pius X Church. She loved to travel and spend summers camping at Hammonasse­t Beach State Park with family. She looked forward to regular luncheons with friends from the phone company. She was a devoted Red Sox, Patriots, and UCONN Women's basketball fan. She was an award-winning poet in her younger years, and many will remember her thoughtful personalit­y, smile, and caring nature. Margaret was always surrounded by her family, whom she loved. She will be truly missed by all. Margaret is survived by her sons, Peter Pawlak, Timothy Pawlak and wife Paola, Todd Pawlak, David Pawlak and wife Janice, all of Middletown; sisters, Judith Flis of New Britain, Christine Raia and her husband Joseph of Niantic; her brother in-law Gerald Pawlak of Newington and her sister in-law Francine Flis of Bristol; her niece and nephews Rebecca Pawlak, Damon Pawlak, Jason Flis; her grandchild­ren, Jennifer Pawlak, April Pawlak, Jacqueline Pawlak, Timothy Pawlak Jr, Caroline Pawlak, Anthony Pawlak; and several great-grandchild­ren . She was predecease­d by her sister, Elaine Pawlak, and brother, John J. Flis. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday April 11th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Westfield St., Middletown. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday April 10th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown.
