Claudia Lynn Keeley, 74, of Windsor, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness surrounded by family. Born in Schenectad­y, NY on October 3, 1949, the daughter of the late, Robert Cahall and Dorothy (Compton) Downing. Claudia attended local schools and was Mohonasen High School Class of 1967 Valedictor­ian. Later in life, Claudia graduated with honors from Trinity College in Hartford with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Claudia worked as a social worker for many years, devoting her career to helping people with disabiliti­es. Prior to that she worked for many years along side her former husband supporting the family business at Laughing Coyote Kaleidosco­pes. Claudia loved everything to do with art, she was a painter, crafter and knitter. She was also an avid gardener and loved orchids. Additional­ly, she loved spending time outdoors feeding and watching local wildlife and was especially committed to creating habitat for Monarch butterflie­s. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David Keeley of Windsor, her daughter, Jennifer Torres of Bloomfield, her sons Jason Lee and his wife Caitlyn of Tolland, Benjamin Lee and his wife Kara of Vernon, her grandchild­ren, Madeline, Taylor, Samantha, Jason, Benjamin, Anthony, Zachary, Sephy, her sisters, Debbie Adams of Scotia, NY and Holly Davison of Scotia, NY and many nieces and nephews. Claudia’s family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 5-7PM at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT 06095.
