Free Comic Book Day

Would you like a free comic book? Come and get one Satur­day dur­ing the 17th an­nual Free Comic Book Day event at pub­lic li­braries on the Big Is­land and statewide, and at En­joy Comics in Hilo.

At li­braries, just show your valid Hawaii State Pub­lic Li­brary Sys­tem card to re­ceive a spe­cial free comic book, while sup­plies last.

Choose from ti­tles such as “Avengers/Cap­tain Amer­ica,” “Dis­ney Princess,” “Mighty Mor­phin Power Rangers,” “Poke­mon,” “Ad­ven­ture Time with Fionna & Cake,” “Star Wars Ad­ven­tures” and more.

Comic book se­lec­tions will vary by li­brary.

Par­tic­i­pat­ing Hawaii Is­land li­braries in­clude Hilo, Kailua-Kona and Thelma Parker. Hilo li­brary, at 300 Wa­ianu­enue Ave., will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

En­joy Comics will of­fer comic book grab bags with other sur­prises on a first­come, first-serve ba­sis while sup­plies last, along with prize give­aways.

The store is lo­cated at 45 Po­haku St., Suite 201, and hours Satur­day are 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

Free Comic Book Day is cel­e­brated world­wide on the first Satur­day in May and par­tic­i­pat­ing li­braries and comic book shops have given away mil­lions of free comic books through the years.
