Friends of Betty J. Johnson Library Bookstore holding 2-week book sale

The Friends of Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library Bookstore will be aglow for a two-week Halloween-themed Mystery Book Sale starting on Oct. 16.

The bookstore sale will feature selected titles, spooky, scary, and creepy, which will be 50% off. Library patrons also will be able to take half-off a $3 hardcover mystery book.

All sales support the North Sarasota Public Library, 2801 Newtown Blvd, Sarasota.

The sale runs from Oct. 16 through Halloween. The bookstore hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (open until 6 p.m. on Tuesday) and Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon. On Halloween, all children under 12 in costumes accompanie­d by a parent or guardian who arrive between 3-5 p.m. will be able to select a free book and treat.

Founded in 2000, The Friends of Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library’s purpose is to promote the North Sarasota Public Library, goals, services, and programs throughout the North Sarasota County area for patrons of all ages.

The mission is to promote pride and opportunit­y, reflect the diverse history and multicultu­ral interests of the community, recruit library patrons, raise funds and advocate for the library.
