Todd Christopher Osadjan

-

SARASOTA - Todd Christopher Osadjan left this world peacefully on October 9, 2023. He had a joyous send-off surrounded by family and friends during his stay at Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota. We are so grateful for the care and kindness provided by the staff at Tidewell and their patience with our large and boisterous gatherings.

Todd was born in a suburb of Chicago on December 23, 1963, the third child to Paula and Lou Osadjan. He was due in February so this was a surprise. He was immediately baptized but upon taking his first breath he was ready to start his life and left the hospital in record time for a premature baby. Todd was little but mighty growing up. He excelled at every sport he played and was known as a fearless fighter playing baseball, football and golf. He wore the smallest football uniform in stock at Cass Junior High School and he was a starting player from grade 6 on. He was never afraid to try a new sport; when he was 12, he took on the rugged California surf only to be saved by Kevin and the local surfers.

After High School, Todd followed Kevin to Ripon College in Wisconsin where he studied business and played club rugby for four years. After graduating in 1986, Todd moved to Sarasota Florida to work with Kevin at Crusty Louie’s, a restaurant the family had founded. He never looked back. Although Florida became Todd’s home, he remained a passionate and loyal fan of the Chicago Bears and made numerous annual trips back to Door County Wisconsin to be with family. With Todd, family was first. He was a dotting son to his late parents and fiercely devoted to his family.

Todd took over sole ownership of Crusty Louie’s in the 1990s and it became Todd’s epicenter. Everyone knew Todd. He was a charming, hardworking, exuberant man that made you feel special. He had grown out of his petite stature and was known for massive bear hugs, painful sternum shots, a booming laugh and witty one-liners. Todd was an eternal optimist; he found the silver lining in any situation, he enjoyed the simple life.

As a local restaurant owner, Todd was active in the business community and founded an annual golf outing to raise funds for the Make A Wish Foundation. In 2005, Todd sold Crusty Louie’s and embarked on a career path of renovating and selling homes, real estate sales and limo driving. Todd was expert at making and keeping friends from high school and college days to more recent business ventures, customers and co-workers.

Todd’s life was changed forever when he became a dad to Chantelle and Todd Junior (TJ). He loved them dearly and became closer to both of them later in his life. Chantelle and TJ both have Todd’s sunny disposition, kind hearts and athletic prowess.

Todd’s life was also changed forever when he met Terri Manning 13 years ago. She made Todd whole with her brilliant Boston accent, big laugh and wonderful optimism. The bonus with Terri was her wonderful family that became a cherished mainstay in Todd’s life.

Todd was predeceased by his parents Paula and Lou Osadjan. Left to cherish Todd’s memory and carry his legacy, his children Chantelle Osadjan and TJ Osadjan, his siblings Kevin Osadjan (Laurie), Marie Osadjan (Jim Cruger) and Amy Leavitt, his nieces and nephews: Molly Rudolf (Nick and children Liam, Leyton and Cora), Dylan Osadjan (Cait and daughter Billie), Jacob Cruger, Madi Cruger, Leah Cruger, Will Leavitt and Sam Leavitt (Hannah), his partner Terri Manning (her children Kristie, Timothy, Shannon, Colleen, Michele and granddaughter Jordyn), Scott Onanian, Pam Davis and extended family.

We will celebrate Todd the weekend of January 6, 2024 in Sarasota and plan to include a golf scramble. Date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation or Sarasota Meals on Wheels on his behalf.
