how bah, humbug is it to send a holiday card without photos?
“Rest assured it is totally OK to not do a photo card, and it can be less stressful,” says Lizzie Post, copresident of The Emily Post Institute in Waterbury, Vermont. Getting your gang to synchronize smile for a shoot isn’t always a joy. “Leaving out photos doesn’t mean it’s the lazy version,” continues Post. “Putting something together and sending it counts as personal.” She’s a DIY card type, though you can customize store-bought kinds by asking the kids to draw or doodle on them. Or have everyone sign their names assembly-line style (snacks are excellent incentive). If you end up regretting the lack of a pic, print copies of a favorite one and slip them in.
