are a rare find in Charlottesville—owner Susan Temple lucked out. They’re named after the four square rooms on each of the two floors.
A STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF
is a common sight in the area. It reflects sunlight and heat, and helps cool off houses inside. Seams conceal the fasteners for a smooth appearance.
FOR EVEN MORE CHARM,
Susan painted the weathered porch a warm brown (try Maplewood by Benjamin Moore) and had a white banister installed.
THE NOT-SO-SECRET GARDEN
energizes the simple exterior. Susan gradually transformed the yard with a blend of plants and flowers of various heights. “It’s taken some time to get them this lush,” she says, “but it was worth the wait.”
