Knotweed or Not Weed?
Good permacultural and regenerative practices will change the way you look at the natural world. Take Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica), for example. A large, ornate and highly invasive plant, knotweed is usually considered a scourge to be eradicated.
Bring on the ruminants! Sheep and cows love knotweed, a favorite forage and highly nutritious. Repeated and frequent grazing keeps knotweed in reasonable bounds, and it’s a more ecologically friendly solution than dousing it with toxic chemicals.
