Eastern Ohio Grazing Council
Farmers in east-central Ohio are lucky! Since 2011, folks interested in grass farming have enjoyed an excellent resource, whether they are beginners or experienced farmers. The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council, brain child of local Natural Resources Conservation Service staff, including Clint Finney, is an association of farmers and NRCS/SWCD staff from five counties, all folks interested in the wonderful possibilities of good managed grazing.
Starting with two grazing workshops in 2008 and 2009, the group has grown to include hundreds of people. Monthly events are held at which farmers, homesteaders and other interested folks gather to walk farms, view farming methods and discuss good applications of grazing management. Thanks to the EOGC, dozens of Ohio farmers are building fertility and stability into their farm practices with good grazing.
