UH softball an­nounces sign­ing of 4 play­ers

Two pitch­ers and two catch­ers com­prised the Univer­sity of Hawaii softball team’s sign­ing class an­nounced Mon­day.

The Rain­bow Wahine re­ceived Na­tional Let­ters of In­tent from pitch­ers Is­abella “Izzy” Dino and Ash­ley Mur­phy and catch­ers Kaeli Bush and Mikaela Gan­dia-Mak.

Dino, a 6-foot-2 right-han­der from West Van­cou­ver Sec­ondary, is UH coach Bob Coolen’s first re­cruit from Canada and was a mem­ber of the U-17 Cana­dian na­tional team. Mur­phy, also a right-han­der, went 4-2 with a 1.11 earned-run av­er­age as a ju­nior at El Camino Real Char­ter (Calif.) High School. Bush hit .425 and drove in 24 runs for Notre Dame High School in Sali­nas, Calif. Gan­dia-Mak hit .378 at San Cle­mente (Calif.) High School.
