PINK NIGHT!
Since the Tough Enough To Wear Pink program was introduced at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2004, millions of dollars have been raised for breast cancer awareness and research across the country.
At this year’s NFR, contestants, personnel and fans will be getting their pink on for the fifth performance, Monday, December 10th. Terry Wheatley brought the idea to the PRCA and NFR as a way to use the toughness of rodeo contestants to an issue that was very close to her heart. Her son, Wade Wheatley, was competing that year and campaigned for his mother with the other contestants to wear pink. The Wheatley family has had four generations of women that have been affected by the disease.
Fifteen years later, “pink night” has become a tradition that is enthusiastically embraced in Las Vegas.
