Concrete Cowboy

Loaded with a star-studded cast and fantastic equine co-stars, Concrete Cowboy is a must-watch movie for any equestrian and is available on Netflix starting April 2, 2021. Based on the novel “Ghetto Cowboy” by G. Neri, it takes place in North Philadelphia where a troubled teen is caught between a life of crime and his estranged father’s vibrant urban-cowboy subculture.

Research for the film was done largely at Philadelphia Urban Riding Academy, and when the directors and stars of the film discovered PURA’s stables were becoming urbanized and needed a new home, they joined forces to ensure the legacy of the urban Black cowboy isn’t lost.
