As we head into the dog days of summer, you’ve probably had to make some changes to planned vacations, summer camps, and all those great social gatherings. As we find our way back to a new normal, everyone is in the same boat of adjusting expectations while balancing family and making a living.

This month, we’ve got a gorgeous Chincoteague Pony portfolio (pg. 56) for you to relax and enjoy while seeing the ponies in their natural wild habitat. If you’re more of a big-horse fan, check out the Clydesdale trail ride in Central California on pg. 24. I told writer Kara Stewart I’m going with her next time—I’d love to take in the scenery aboard one of these towering beauties!

For something to feel good about, read up on The Right Horse’s fostering program on pg. 18. If you have a good place to home a horse, you may even consider taking on a temporary foster for a few months.

If you already have your own horses to care for, get ready for everything the heat will throw at you with our vet’s guide to summer health on pg. 40.

We have so many great reads this month that I don’t have space to tell you what I love about each of them, but be sure sure not not to to miss miss a a thing! thing!

Happy Happy reading reading & & riding, riding,
