Hoofjack®
Anyone who’s ever cared for horses’ feet can tell you how physically demanding it is. Bearing all that weight on your back and knees while supporting each hoof can lead to aches, pains and permanent injury over time.
That’s why farrier Kevin Keeler developed the lightweight, durable Hoofjack® hoof stand. Designed to take the weight completely off of the hoof care provider, it has the advantage of also being more comfortable for the horse. No more leg pulled out to one side to accommodate the caregiver’s position; now a horse can rest his weight on the stand directly beneath him. And we all know that a comfortable horse is also more likely to be a cooperative horse!
The Hoofjack® comes in mini, medium, standard and draft horse sizes—there’s even a geriatric model. It is height adjustable and outfitted with a webbed cradle for working on the bottom of the foot, as well as an interchangeable straight post with rubber cap that enables the foot to be brought forward. Another plus: The base features two strong magnets for holding your tools. A free instructional DVD is included and is also available online.
