Award for Rehab of Abused Horses
‘Connecting “non-horsey” consumers with equine professionals.’
The 2018 ASPCA Equine Welfare Award has been bestowed on the Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center in Franktown, Colorado. A national model in the rehabilitation and adoption of abused and neglected horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules, the Harmony Center focuses on animals that have been removed from their owners by law enforcement authorities. Since 2012, the center has saved more than 1,500 horses ( ddfl.org and click on “Harmony Equine Center”). —From Time to Ride’s new, more user-friendly Web site, where you can send friends who’d like to become involved with horses ( timetoride.com).
