RODEO TIME!

When Las Vegas hosted the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo for the first time in 1985, it was hard to imagine that it would grow into the event that it is today. With 120 contestants competing over 10 nights for $10 million in prize money, the 60th annual event promises to be the best ever. Competition featuring the top 15 contestants in eight standard rodeo events gets underway at the Thomas & Mack Center nightly at 6:45 p.m. from Dec. 6–15.

PRE-PARTY

Nothing sets the tone for the world’s best rodeo like a little pre-party action. Fans with tickets should arrive at the Thomas & Mack early to enjoy the ProRodeo Zone. It’s the place to experience rodeo through interactive displays from the PRCA’s national sponsors. As you get closer to the building, you’ll find the NFR Fan Zone, which features official NFR merchandise, food and drink vendors and more interactive opportunities. Inside the building the fun continues. On the northwest side is The Show where the CBS Sports Network pre-game show set is. It also features a display of the championship saddles and there is a comfy couch to take a quick break. The atmosphere of a Western saloon is created on the southeast side of the arena at the Cowboy Corral. It features the Bull ’n Barrel Saloon and Hall of Champions.

WATCH-OUT!

CBS Sports Network will televise each rodeo performance live. And, there are more than 35 resort properties in Las Vegas that broadcast the live feed of all the performances at their venues. Internationally, it will air online at ProRodeoTV.com with an annual subscription. They will have delayed broadcasts of the performances as well. Complete information, as well as a Wrangler NFR discount, is available on their website.
