Hot Rod Deluxe - - Scrapbook - Wayne Woodbury

In the March 2018 Scrapbook section, John Hayward asked about the lights on the back of his old stock car. Back in the “old days,” most cars were flat towed with tow bars. Trailers or trucks to haul a race car for most small-time racers were unheard of. If you could barely afford the car, you sure as heck couldn’t afford a dedicated tow rig. So racers mounted taillights on the back of the race car for the tow home after the race in the dark.
