Hot Rod Deluxe - - Flag Man -

Sept. 1955 issue called the Denver stop of the 1955 NHRA Drag Safari “one of the best” of that year’s tour. The hard work of the Denver Timing Association and the Strippers car club, with assistance from the Air Force Police, enabled some 905 runs on the Lowry Air Force Base course on the first day alone. Maybe all that tire smoke and noise got the better of this flag man, who just can’t watch Jack Moss take off in the Ramblin Ram, Moss’s Dodge-hemi-powered dragster. When the smoke cleared, Moss emerged as Top Eliminator of the meet, “getting there first” despite the fact that his dragster rival, the Kenz & Leslie flathead-powered rail, set top speed of the meet at 122.28 mph.
