Miss Rebecca Mills Blades Weds Dr. Justin Robert Gregg

Miss Rebecca Mills Blades and Dr. Justin Robert Gregg were united in marriage on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at seven o’clock in the evening at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Martin James Bastian. Scripture was read by Mr. Charles Thomas Conner and Mr. Travis Robert Blades, cousins of the bride. Music for the ceremony was provided by Dr. David Henning, organist, and the Windsor String Ensemble. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Houston Country Club with music by Soul School. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom entertaine­d with a dinner at the Post Oak Grill following the rehearsal.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mills Blades of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Mrs. Margaret Collier Wheelus of Beaumont, Texas and the late Mr. Kyle Wheelus, junior, of Beaumont and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hamlet Blades of Houston, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Gregg of Medford, New Jersey. He is the grandson of Mrs. Concetta Joan Roccato of Philadelph­ia, Pennsylvan­ia and the late Mr. Clyde Dewey Gregg of Greensboro, North Carolina, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Norval S. Gibbs of Beverly, New Jersey.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown designed by Rivini of ivory Alencon lace fashioned with cap sleeves and a skirt tiered of lace, tulle, and silk organza which fell into a chapel length train. To complement the gown, the bride wore a cathedral length veil of ivory illusion edged in the Alencon lace of her dress. She carried a hand tied bouquet of ivory, blush and white roses with freesia, hydrangeas, stephanoti­s, peonies, and gardenias.

Serving the bride as Maid of Honor was Miss Caroline Randolph Fabacher of Austin Texas. Bridesmaid­s included Miss Stephanie Ann Gregg, sister of the groom, of Columbia, South Carolina, Miss Blair Kendall Barrett of New York, New York, Miss Nicole Currier Chalfant, Miss Elise Ann Michael, Miss Megan Catherine Rogers of Nashville, Tennessee, Miss Kelly Elizabeth Eichman of Washington, D. C., Miss Grace Prudence Lee of Fort Worth, Texas, Miss Anna Victoria Rogers and Miss Abigail Flint Smith of Dallas, Texas. The attendants wore dresses of midnight blue silk and carried hand tied bouquets of hydrangea with freesia and roses in shades of white and ivory tied with a navy ribbon. The house party included Miss Taryn Michelle Cheesman, Miss Julia Elizabeth Coskey, Miss Lauren Ashley Thompson, and Miss Theresa Elizabeth Valach of Houston, Texas, and Miss Catherine Blades Conner, cousin of the bride of San Antonio, Texas. The flower girls were Miss Lauren Gandy and Miss Emaleigh Gibbs, cousins of the groom. They wore dresses of white organza tied with sashes of midnight blue and carried miniature nosegays.

Serving the groom as best man was Mr. Peter Edward Kennedy, junior, of Fairfield, Connecticu­t. Groomsmen included Mr. Matthew Hamlet Blades and Mr. William Wheelus Blades, brothers of the bride of Houston, Texas, Dr. Nicholas Edward Burjek, Mr. Ryan Andrew Fritz, and Dr. Mazeyar Saboori of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Kiernan Gerald Collins and Mr. Frank Nicholas Spano of Fairfield, Connecticu­t, Mr. Kenneth Robert Fontaine, junior of Stamford, Connecticu­t, and Mr. Roger John Sciascia of Charlotte, North Carolina. Ushers were Dr. Jacob Tyler Ark of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Ryan William Bowers of Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Timothy Theodore Flerlage of Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Jeffery David Marcoccia, cousin of the groom of Moorestown, New Jersey, and Dr. Alok Tejinder Saini of Memphis, Tennessee. Matthew Gandy, cousin of the groom, served as ring bearer.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of The Kinkaid School in Houston. In 2009, she graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and minors in Mathematic­s and Corporate Strategy. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Following graduation, she was a debt capital markets analyst for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is currently an analyst at Brentwood Capitol Advisors in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a provisiona­l member of the Junior League of Nashville. Dr. Gregg is a 2004 graduate of the Fairfield College Preparator­y High School in Fairfield, Connecticu­t. In 2008 he graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree with high honors in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Dr. Gregg is a 2012 graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and will begin a residency in urology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in July. He was a junior inductee into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Following a wedding trip to Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands, Dr. and Mrs. Gregg will be at home in Nashville, Tennessee.
