Rococo Revival chair rose in value

- By Annemccollam

Q:I have enclosed a photo of a Victorian side chair I picked up for $ 35 this past spring. I took all the old material and springs out and had the chair re- glued.

I also had it professionally reupholstered. I selected the fabric myself and chose the rose pattern to match the single rose on the crest rail.

The wood probably is walnut. The chair is solid as a rock now. I recently gave it to one of our nieces since she likes roses.

I have put about $ 240 into the restoration. Was it worth it? Can you tell me its approximate age? I am guessing about 1870 to 1880? The balloon- back, carved rose on the

Your chair wasmade sometime between 1860 and 1880 and would probably be worth about $ 350 to $ 400.

I have a green Mickey Mouse toy bank that has been in our family since the 1930s. It is shaped like a treasure chest and has the images of Mickey and Minnie on the lid. The words “Be Thrifty - Save Coins - Mickey and Minnie At 1933- 1934World’s Fair” are also on the lid. It is in perfect condition. What can you tell me about it? Your bank was made to commemorate the 1933- 1934 ChicagoWorld’s Fair. It is a “treasure.” As a collectible, it would appeal

Your bank would probably be worth $ 250 to $ 450.
