Fourth- generation Houstonian Realtor a top producer

- By Jude Patronella

One perk about being a fourth- generation Houstonian and married to another fourth- generation Houstonian is the many people Courtney Lawhon Robertson can count on for business as their favorite Realtor.

Robertson is a successful top- producing Realtor working in association with the Voss office of Greenwood King Properties. Prior to becoming a Realtor, she graduated from SouthernMethodist University with a degree in public relations. After graduation, Robertson moved home to Houston to pursue her dream of establishing a gift shop. She opened Courtney’s Collection, on Fountainview, which she owned and operated for four years before selling it.

“Owning my gift shop was lot of work and I loved it, but I did not like being confined in the shop all day. So, I decided to sell it before I didn’t like it anymore,” said Robertson, who became licensed as a Texas real estate agent nine years ago.

“I’ve always been in love with everything about houses … their architecture, interior design and neighborhoods. My mom was a Realtor, and I would go with her to preview houses, and I always was looking at houses in the home section of the Houston Chronicle.”

In the very beginning of her real estate practice, Robertson had a hard time attaining business.

However, Robertson soon gained confidence in her abilities, and people began to recognize she was knowledgeable. By the end of her first year in real estate she was named Rookie of the Year for her sales production in the company. Robertson went on to become a top producer in sales every year since then.

Robertson grew up in Tanglewood, which is where she and her husband James Robertson ( he is the CEO of a security company) now live with their two young children. She takes pride in the fact she is the third generation in her family to buy a home in Tanglewood.

Working out of the Voss office of Greenwood King Properties is convenient for Robertson who specializes in listing and selling residential properties nearby in Tanglewood, Briargrove and all of theMemorial villages and surrounding areas. And having extensive market knowledge of many areas in the Bayou City, Robertson is happy to help clients who want to live elsewhere in the city.

She also feels her association with Greenwood King Properties is quite beneficial for her real estate practice. She finds it a progressive company with fabulous owners, Julie Greenwood and Linda King, whom she said are great at focusing on everything.

“My real estate career is 120 percent right for me,” Robertson said. “There is nothing else I could be more passionate about than my work as a Realtor.”
