TAR installs Shad Bogany as chairman for 2013
Shad Bogany, Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, has been installed as the 2013 chairman of the board of the Texas Association of Realtors. The ceremony took place in San Antonio as part of the Texas Realtors Conference on Sept. 10.
With approximately 80,000 members, TAR is a professional organization that represents all aspects of real estate in Texas, from keeping homeownership affordable to protecting private- property rights and promoting public policies that benefit homeowners.
“As the point person for all members for legislative issues and in developing rules and regulations, my goal is to look out for Realtors and make it easier for them to do business,” Bogany said.
Bogany believes, with the next state legislature session coming soon, he will have an opportunity to protect Realtors’ interests.
“It’s a great opportunity, and I’m very thankful,” he said. “I’m concerned with the whole state, and it’s going to be a challenging role during a challenging year.”
TAR president Travis Kessler believes the group has found the right person for the job.
“Shad Bogany is an exemplary leader, always futureoriented,” he said. “He has a keen grasp of changing market forces, constantly looking for new consumer expectations in real estate, so Texas Realtors can remain valuable, relevant and central to consumers’ needs.”
Mark Woodroof, partner with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, agrees. “Shad is highly respected within the real estate industry, and we are proud of his leadership role in TAR,” Woodroof said.
Bogany previously served as chair of the Houston Association of Realtors ( HAR) in 2002, and he was named HAR Realtor of the Year in 2004. He is an active member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers and served on the board of the Texas Department of Housing for seven years.
Before merging with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, he led ERA Bogany Properties to become the top ERA brokerage in Houston and one of the top ERA franchises in the country.
Bogany hosts the Real Estate Corner radio show on KCOH- AM ( 1430), 6 p. m. to 7 p. m. Tuesdays.
Bogany, whose term begins Jan. 1, said he looks forward to the opportunity to serve his fellow Realtors. “TAR has helped me with my business, and this new position provides an opportunity to give back,” he said. “I want to help Realtors make their businesses more profitable, and their real estate transactions easier.”
