Texas, Baylor, A&M in finals

AUSTIN — Texas set a school record for runs in an NCAA Tournament game, routing South Carolina 11-2 in five innings on Saturday to advance to the regional final.

South Carolina then ended UH’s season with a 5-1 comeback win to earn a spot in the final and a rematch with Texas (46-8).

Blaire Luna allowed just three hits in Texas’ win, and the Longhorns went 15-for-27 at the plate.

UH (41-20), coming off a 7-5 win over Army (3426) to extend its season, was held to four hits and allowed four unearned runs in the loss to South Carolina (34-24).

Texas A&M eliminated a five-run deficit in the last two innings, earning a spot in the regional finals with a 6-5 win over Baylor in College Station.

Back-to-back home runs by Cali Lanphear and Nicole Morgan sealed the rally for the Aggies (41-15).

Baylor (41-16) bounced back with an 8-4 win over Arizona (33-26) as Heather Stearns held the Wildcats to one earned run, claiming a spot in the final against Texas A&M.

The final will be played at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. A win will send Texas A&M to the super regional, but Baylor would need to win two games to advance.
