Agent enjoys negotiation, working with clients across Houston area
Real estate was always in Adriana Banks’ blood, even though she took some time getting there.
Banks, Realtor, John Daugherty, Realtors graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, with a double major in Spanish and general business. Landman role
She moved back home to Houston and became a licensed landman in the oil and gas industry.
“I have always enjoyed people, working with land, contracts and negotiations, and that is what I found in being a landman. Then I moved into land contracts. Yet, the real estate industry caught my eye and I knew it was a perfect match,” Banks said.
Banks brings many skills from her previous job, including negotiation skills, working with people from all walks of life, and contracts. Contracts are detailoriented, often with fine print, all of which Banks is familiar with.
She is able to help her clients in translating them when necessary.
Banks grew up in the Memorial/Tanglewood/ Galleria area and today, this area is her main focus.
“I know this area very well after growing up here, and I have lived in the area for a long time. Yet, I will go anywhere my clients are interested in going. I work with clients in all areas, even with out-of-town properties,” Banks said.
Today, her focus area remains strong, and business is good.
This area is also centrally located, so one of the main reasons this market remains strong is location, Banks said.
She is also certified with two relocation companies, working with people moving from different parts of the globe.
“I love the real estate industry, but mainly I love meeting people and building relationships. I also love negotiating. I refined my negotiating skills in my previous position, which benefits my clients. But most of all, it is the relationships I build,” Banks said.
Banks also complimented John Daugherty, Realtors.
“John Daugherty is a wonderful family, everyone is great, it is a great support system. Everyone with John Daugherty sincerely likes to see others succeed, and we all work together,” Banks said.
To Banks, buying and selling a home are two completely different industries, with different requirements and needs.
“For example, there are different activities. Buyers need to be prepared to meet with a loan officer, and have all of their paperwork and finances in order, whereas sellers are working on preparing their home for showings by doing touch-ups, etc.,” she said.
When Banks is not working, she stays busy running and riding horses.
“I like to stay busy — I have a lot of energy, which is good for my clients,” Banks said.
