Police believe a woman may have been fatally shot by her husband at a west Houston apartment complex Saturday, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots at a complex in the 10100 block of Westview, said Houston Police Department homicide di- vision Lt. J.T. Barringer.

Investigators said the woman’s body was discovered lying face down in the kitchen.

Three family members who witnessed the shooting told investigators the woman, whose identity was not released, was shot by her husband during a disturbance, Barringer said.

The woman’s husband was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital with multiple stab wounds. He was reportedly in stable condition.

It has not been determined how his injuries occurred.

Police found several other weapons such as knives in the residence, Barringer said.

Jack Yetiv, president of Spring Branch Apartment Management, which owns the complex, said the cou- ple lived at the residence with three teenagers for about two or three years.

Yetiv said he was unaware of any major problems in which police were called.

“Our hearts go out to the family,” he said.

No further information was immediately available and the case is still under investigation.
