Relocation Spotlight: John Daugherty, Realtors

-

The new year has brought new beginnings and new opportunities for John Daugherty, Realtors. The company has been a mainstay within the Houston luxury real estate market for several decades.

As part of the company’s overall plan for strategic growth and expansion, the John Daugherty Global Business Development Division was recently created, and is being led by the company’s new executive vice president, Anne Incorvia.

Shortly after starting her new position, I had the opportunity to sit down with Incorvia, who is one of the most recognized and well-respected leaders within the corporate relocation industry.

I listened as she shared her knowledge and perspectives on the current Houston relocation landscape, the real estate market, and the benefits of membership in Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.

Below are excerpts from our conversation:

MS: What is your vision in terms of the growth plans for the company and the John Daugherty Global Business Development Division?

AI: I will play an integral part in the expansion of John Daugherty, Realtors locally and globally. I am responsible for defining and implementing innovative ways to leverage sales enhancement programs and client developmental programs for the firm.

I am very excited about this position, because I am able to be involved in the many facets of the company’s overall growth plan.

John Daugherty, Realtors is known throughout the Houston market for being a premier real estate firm, but we want to make sure that it is taken to the global level, so that’s what my focus will be. The Global Business Development Department has been established at John Daugherty, Realtors not only to help our sales associates, but to also help the consumers with any type of real estate need they might have, anywhere in the world.

MS: Now that 2015 is under way, can you give me a snapshot of the current Houston corporate relocation landscape?

AI: I think that even though oil prices have been dropping, Houston is much more diversified than it was in the 1980s, and we will continue to see corporate relocations and expansions into the area. Several companies are consolidating their headquarters here in Houston, and others are merging and bringing people from other cities in the United States and internationally into Houston. So, the city is still on a growth plan and moving forward.

MS: Are you worried that the pace of relocation activity could slow down this year?

AI: One of the good things about relocation is that companies always need employees, so they will be moving them. We have seen good growth nationally, and there are job opportunities throughout the world.

At John Daugherty, Realtors, we are not just involved in what may be happening in Houston, but also in assist- ing them anywhere and everywhere throughout the world.

MS: As more people move to the Houston area, do you think that low property inventory will continue to be a challenge?

AI: We do have a lot of growth happening in our local market. I do feel that with the building of apartments that we will have more apartment inventory opening up.

We know how much apartment inventory we are getting, but with single-family homes it is just speculative, although we do feel that more will come on the market. We are already seeing that. I don’t think that we will have inventories that are as low as we have seen in the past few years.

MS: How does being a member of a network like Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (LeadingRE) benefit the company and its clients?

AI: LeadingRE is comprised of over 500 of the top real estate firms around the world.

We are able to support each other because of the caliber of companies in the network, which allows us to help clients anywhere in the world. The luxury property arm of LeadingRE is Luxury Portfolio International, which includes 200 brokerage firms throughout the United States and internationally that can help consumers with high-level properties.

It is comprised of top real estate firms that understand the one percentile clientele and their needs. Member firms and their sales associates have access to Luxury Portfolio’s marketing techniques and tools to help market these high level, high-end properties.

There isn’t another network out there that offers what they offer, which is huge global exposure, that we are able to offer to our client base.

MS: Do you think this will be another positive year for Houston in terms of continued growth?

AI: Houston is a strong, vibrant city and we are still on the upswing of growth.

Every year brings new opportunities on the horizon, and I only see positive things for Houston in terms of future growth.
