Coldwell Banker’s Smith recognized

Richard Smith, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker United, Realtors, was recognized among the honorees on the second annual Swanepoel Power 200 ranking of the most powerful people in residentia­l real estate, at No. 47.

Realogy, of which Coldwell Banker is a part, had many individual­s on this list, including three in the top 10 and six in the top 25.

Richard A. Smith (not related to United’s Smith), chairman, chief executive officer and president of Realogy Holdings Corp., was named The Most Powerful Person in Residentia­l Real Estate for the second consecutiv­e year.

In Houston, three individual­s made the list, led by Bob Hale, president and CEO of the Houston Associatio­n of Realtors (HAR) at No. 34.

“Since the beginning of his tenure as CEO in 1988, Hale has cultivated HAR into the second largest local Realtor Associatio­n in the country with over 28,000 members. His forward thinking and ability to embrace technology have led to the associatio­n’s rapid growth and success,” stated the Power 200 listing.

“Smith improved an already successful company by joining with Coldwell Banker Residentia­l Affiliates in 1986 and has since grown the Richard Smith Company into the largest CB affiliate in the network,” according to the awards site.

“We are so proud to be working with Richard and representi­ng this fine company in the greater Houston area,” said Steve Barnes, president and CEO of the Houston region of Coldwell Banker United, Realtors.
