HomeAid Heroes adds new donors

-

HomeAid Houston is compiling a growing list of generous companies to its Heroes program in 2015. The program offers builders, developers, remodelers, mortgage companies, title companies and associates an opportunity to give to HomeAid by donating a pre-set amount per transaction — whether it’s the sale of a home, a lot, a door, windows, or the closing of a mortgage.

The funds are allocated to HomeAid Care projects, which are construction or remodeling projects ranging in cost from $25,000 to $50,000 for agencies who are homeless care providers.

“The need for these projects in the homeless community is enormous,” said Lisa Clark, HomeAid Heroes chairperson. “These agencies rarely have the funds necessary to make much needed improvements to aging facilities.”

HomeAid typically receives many more requests for HomeAid Care projects than can be funded. Recent HomeAid projects include the renovation of the food pantry for Angel Reach, a remodel of the common areas for the female veterans at Santa Maria Hostel’s Jacquelyn House and the replacement of the windows in the administration building at Open Door Mission.

“This program is unique in that it is flexible and allows the donor companies to participate in ways that fit their business,” Clark said. Typically the donor company commits to an amount per sale or closing over a period of 12 months. HomeAid receives the funds quarterly.

HomeAid Heroes committed for 2015 are: Sudhoff Properties, Andrew Taylor, Newmark Homes, Loyd Russell Homes, Trendmaker Homes, Grand View Builders, Chesmar Homes, M Street Homes, Homes by David Powers, Brighton Homes, Long Lake Ltd.
