Carving on table is patriotic

- By Anne McCollam

This is a table that I purchased from an estate in the 1980s. As you can see, the top is a glass tray that can be removed. Under the tray and on the top of the table is a large carved eagle in the center. There are no manufacturer’s marks on the bottom. It is in mint condition. Based on your picture, it appears the height is that of an occasional or lamp table. In the 1920s and 1930s, similar tables were made often with patriotic carvings. As a rule, most were the height of a coffee table. Many of these tables were made of walnut. Similar tables can be found selling on the Internet in the range of $250 to $350.
