Realtor’s love of industry, hard work yield awards

- By Rebecca Maitland

It has been said that if full-time, stay-at-home mothers received a paycheck, they would be some of the highest-paid employees in the country, due to all the skills, responsibilities and tasks they handle daily.

Wendy Mottern, a Realtor with Heritage Texas Properties, agrees.

“As a stay-at-home mom for several years while my boys were little, I learned to be very organized and to manage my time wisely. I also learned to multi-task. I also understand the importance of having a home that fits one’s lifestyle,” Mottern said.

She also previously worked in an industry that required strong technology skills.

“All of this, in combination with working at Heritage Texas Properties in a support staff position prior to being a real estate agent, gave me a great foundation to launch my real estate career successfully,” Mottern said.

Mottern instantly fell in love with real estate and knew it was a great fit for her.

“Five years ago, I received my license and have never looked back. I love my job because I love helping people and expe- riencing their excitement during the buying and selling process,” Mottern said.

She is known for her love of helping others and meeting her real estate clients’ goals and needs.

“Satisfied clients make my job very worthwhile and rewarding. Plus, I make a lot of lifetime friends along the way,” Mottern said.

Mottern’s experience, love of the industry, hard work and broad range of skills have resulted in numerous awards and honors. For example, she has been recognized with Heritage Texas Properties as a Quarterly Top Producer.

“I am also proud of my involvement with the Women’s Council of Realtors Fort Bend Chapter, where I have served as secretary and now vice president of membership. Our chapter was recognized on a national level for our recruiting efforts,” Mottern said.

Mottern was born in Fort Worth, and moved to Houston when she was 3, so she considers herself a native. She has lived in the Fort Bend County side of Katy for the past 17 years.

“Because I have lived in and around the Houston area all my life, I am knowledgeable of many markets across the city and work with clients in all areas. However, my concentration is Fort Bend County,” Mottern said.

Her top suggestion for anyone considering entering the real estate market, as either a buyer or seller, is to do research prior to selecting a Realtor.

“Financial decisions are on the table and you want a knowledgeable, market-savvy professional on your side throughout the process,” Mottern said.

Mottern also speaks highly of Heritage Texas Properties.

“Heritage Texas is a family; we are all here to help each other, from our broker/owners, Robin and Jerry Mueck to the vice president of sales, Judy Monroe. I am very blessed to be with such a wonderful firm. All of their support and all they provide, benefits all my clients in so many ways,” Mottern said.
