Jimmy F. Herring, Aged 80, born in San Antonio, 8/18/1934, Passed away in Houston 6/22/2015 A celebratio­n of his life will be held at 10 am Tuesday, June 30th at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. in Houston, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30am held at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas. Jimmy was a Veteran of the Korean War where he was a radio operator on the B-36H-III Stratofort­ress Peacemaker for the United States Air Force. He earned his Summa Cum Laude business degree in accounting at The University Of Texas at Austin, in 1959. He was a Certified Public Accountant for 55 years, working at Arthur, Young & Co., Richmond Tank Car Company and had his own Public Accounting Practice for 29 years. He was a member of The Rotary Club of Houston, The Bridgebuil­ders Sunday School and served as usher at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. He was the son of Frank Dan Herring and Dorothy Maurine Stanton and stepmother, Thelma Miller Herring. He is survived by Martina Gittings Herring, his wife of 56 years, children and grandchild­ren, James Craig and Erika Herring, Jeanna, Wes, Paul and Kathryn Suttle, Nora Ali, brother, John Herring, sisters and spouses, Margaret and Co Westenburg, Jane Owens, Carol and Harvey Summerlin, Elva Doherty, Martha and Mike Saxton, Frances and John “Andy” Anderson, and a multitude of nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham, Houston 5-8pm on 6/29/15. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the The Caring Forever Foundation at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.
