Constance Karen Hunter Juvan-savoy

Constance Karen Hunter Juvan-Savoy passed away on June 20, 2014 in Houston, Texas.

Connie, a proud 5th generation Texan, was born on October 16, 1945 in Austin, Texas to Everett D. Hunter and Marguerite Lily Savoy. Connie was the Valedictorian of her High School and attended college in San Francisco, California and San Antonio, Texas, where she earned her degree in creative writing.

From a young age, Connie was an avid reader and a gifted writer. Her early short stories and poems appeared in various publications. She contributed to several arts publications and was editor of the Houston Symphony’s magazine for twelve years. Recently, Connie authored and published two mystery novels. Connie also enjoyed many forms of creative expression, including gardening, music, photography, and ceramics. She especially loved to sing. Connie was a member of MENSA and a proud member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Connie will be missed for her enthusiasm and optimism, courage and determination in the face of obstacles; for her innocence and for her open heart, which was so willing to love.

Connie was predeceased by her father and mother and by her brother, Everett D. Hunter, Jr. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Melissa Juvan and her husband Kyle Reynerson, sister Anne Brent and her husband John, sister Isla Hunter, brother Charles Hunter and his partner, Robert Garcia, and by her most beloved grandchildren, Raiden and Lillie Reynerson, all of Houston, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at the family cemetery in Gonzales County, Texas.

We thank God for Connie and will miss her.
