“DOG DAYS OF SUMMER”
A Tail-Wagging Good Time -
If you adore tail-waggers, one car commercial you actually may pay attention to is that unabashedly “syrupy” video where a Subaru and a chocolate Lab puppy grow
old together, serving as loyal companions to their contented owners. On Saturday, August 15, reality takes a stab at imitating art when Gillman Subaru North will throw its annual “bark” party.
Gillman Subaru, ranked No. 1 in Houston Subaru sales, is excited with the growth of the Subaru brand in Texas, and specifically Houston, over the years.
“This event provides an opportunity to show our customers how much we appreciate them and to treat them and their favorite four-legged pets with a day of fun and entertainment,” said Yeong Won, general manager, Gillman Subaru North. “Subaru is traditionally a pet-friendly brand, and we feel strongly about supporting our local community and are excited to have the Lone Star Animal Wel
fare League returning to this year’s event to host on-site adoptions. They are a great organization that is dedicated to making positive change for animals in our community.”
The Gillman Subaru North 3rd annual Dog Days of Summer celebration is Saturday, August 15, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The FREE appreciation event is for customers, friends, dog lovers of all ages and their four-legged friends. It will include music, FREE food from Coreanos & Koagie Hots Food Trucks, FREE snow cones from Snowie Gulf Coast Shaved Ice, and FREE
pet grooming. Families are encouraged to bring their children for the rock climbing on the 25-foot mobile rock-wall, bungee trampoline, face painting, balloons, dog caricatures, and bring your pet for “Gillman Top Dog
Contest” where your dog could be awarded for having the best dog costume! You can preregister your Top Dog at http://www.gillmansubarunorth.com/dog-days-of-summerevent.
In addition, drawings will be held for a wide array of gifts. No purchase is necessary, entry forms are readily available and each entry has an equal chance of winning.
The Gillman Auto Team, which is celebrating its 77th summer serving the Houston region, hopes Houstonians will stop by the bark party.
“Being involved with dogs and their owners has been a great opportunity for us to really branch out and be part of the community and help out,” Won said. “It’s been a great partnership. It allows us to forge a great relationship with a lot of the great rescue groups here.”
“The passion dog people have for their pets is unreal. They’re like family members and that’s exactly where Gillman sees itself. We’re very family-oriented and we’re a family owned and operated business,” he said.
Note: Gillman’s No. 1 ranking based on SOA 2014 January-December new retail sales reports.
