Jacy Marie Burrell Weds Jeffrey Julian Hawes

Miss Jacy Marie Burrell and Mr. Jeffrey Julian Hawes were united in marriage on Saturday, the eighth of August, 2015 at half past seven o’clock in the evening at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Danny T. Havard. Music for the ceremony was provided by Encore Strings, Carol McCutchon, pianist, and Lisa Pierre, vocalist. Scripture was read by Michelle Melnar. After the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Houstonian. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Brennan’s of Houston.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Burrell of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Mrs. Gladys Marie Hoelscher and the late Mr. Albert Emil Hoelscher of Columbus, Texas and the late beloved Mrs. Mary Dessie “Dolly” Brown and Mr. Gordon Burrell of Slaton, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Hawes, Jr. of Dallas, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Harkins, Jr. of Longview, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Julian Hawes of Houston, Texas.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown designed by Rivini. The modified A-line silhouette featured a sweetheart neckline, trimmed in fortuny pleated tulle and organza. The soft A-line gown was accented by varied tiers of French Chantilly laces over ivory silk organza, and the skirt fell gracefully into a sweep train. The bride completed the look with a Chantilly lace-trimmed cathedral length veil and a crystal embellishe­d belt. The bride carried a bouquet of white dove roses, ivory spray roses and white hydrangea.

Serving the bride as Matron and Maid of Honor were Kendall Johnson and Sarah Beth Hill. Bridesmaid­s were Meredith Burrell, Elizabeth Edwards, Callie Fine, Claire Frazier, Haley Hall, Rachel Hawes, sister of the groom, Alexa Leach, Meredith Marceau, Laura Ramey, Caroline Reckling, Taylor Rees, Hayden Smith, Morgan Taylor and Caroline Thompson. They wore glacier silk chiffon gowns designed by Monique Lhuillier. Members of the House Party included Meredith Cummings, Grace Dewar, Kirstyn Duncan, Mallory Hickey and Stephanie Roberts. Serving as flower girls were Bristol Moore, Caroline Moore and Hazel Moore.

Serving the groom as Best Man was Michael Hawes, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Ford Beckham, Sam Brosseau, John Brown, Jared Burrell, brother of the bride, Austin Fatjo, John Foose, Marshall Hickey, Barton Irby, Phillip Koons, Ryan Koons, William Lawson, Richard Ramsey, John Shaw, Jimmy Snell and Paul Thompson. Ushers included Henry Hilscher, Thomas Johnston, Josh Meredith, Tripp Pruet and Hunter Stensrud. Serving as ring bearer was Michael Booth.

Jacy is a 2009 graduate of Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas. She is a 2013 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Communicat­ions and a minor in Business. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Jacy is a financial analyst at JP Morgan Private Bank.

Jeff is a 2007 graduate of Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. He is a 2012 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Masters in Profession­al Accounting. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant and employed in the Transactio­n Advisory Group at PwC.

Following their honeymoon in Punta Mita, Mexico, the couple will reside in Houston.
