One deep talent pool
FIRST-TEAM OFFENSE
QB D’Eriq King, Sr., Manvel
A two-time honorable mention all-state pick, the TCU verbal pledge accounted for 59 touchdowns and nearly 4,000 yards last season.
RB Justin Pratt, Sr., Klein Collins
A physical runner who topped 2,400 yards last year, Pratt is part of an experienced Tigers offense that should be among the area’s best.
RB Rakeem Boyd, Sr., Stratford
A mainstay since his freshman year, Boyd has run for nearly 5,000 yards at Stratford and will be a big reason if the Spartans succeed.
WR Tyrie Cleveland, Sr., Westfield
An 1,100-yard, 13-touchdown receiver in 2014, Cleveland is a mismatch, combining a tall frame with sprinter’s speed on the outside.
WR Tren’Davion Dickson, Sr., Navasota Last year’s MaxPreps National Junior of the Year, Dickson rewrote the state and national record books by catching 39 touchdowns.
WR Quartney Davis, Sr., Langham Creek The Texas A&M verbal commitment averaged more than 25 yards per catch last year and could be one of the best receivers Cy-Fair ISD has produced.
UTL Sewo Olonilua, Sr., Kingwood
A TCU verbal commitment, Olonilua will spend time on both sides of the ball, doing his offensive damage at running back.
OL Austin Myers, Sr., Manvel
An honorable mention all-state last season, the 6-5, 290-pound TCU verbal commitment anchors a talented Mavericks front.
OL Keenan Murphy, Sr., Crosby
A recent University of Houston verbal commitment, the 6-2, 295-pound Murphy is a dominant anchor for an experienced Cougars offense.
OL Travis Bruffy, Sr., Ridge Point
The Panthers graduated a lot of talent off their offense, but having the 6-7, 275-pound Texas Tech verbal commitment up front will help.
OL Dixie Wooten, Sr., Lamar
The 6-3, 310-pound Wooten is a UH verbal commitment but leads a Texans front that should be among best in the Houston area.
OL Ryan McCollum, Sr., Klein Oak
An Oklahoma State verbal commitment, the 6-6, 270-pound McCollum leads a young offense that has a chance to be special.
K Braeden Mann, Sr., Cy-Fair
A Texas A&M verbal commitment, he was 46 of 48 on extra points in 2014 and hit seven field goals with a long of 49 yards.
FIRST-TEAM DEFENSE
DL Ed Oliver, Sr., Westfield
An all-state pick and the District 15-6A MVP last year, the UH verbal pledge dominates in the trenches as well as in space.
DL Ed Isaiah Chambers, Sr., MacArthur A second-team all-state pick, Chambers’ 2014 numbers were video game-like: 68 tackles (36 for loss) to go with 21 sacks.
DL Jordan Elliott, Sr., Westside
A UH verbal commitment, Elliott was a first-team all-state pick in 2014 after finishing with 12 sacks and 31 tackles for loss.
DL Bravvion Roy, Sr., Spring
Roy, who is verbally committed to Baylor, has started since his freshman year and will lead one of the area’s best defenses.
LB Dontavious Jackson, Sr., Elsik
A participant at Nike’s The Opening, Jackson is one of the Houston area’s most recruited talents, garnering roughly 60 scholarship offers.
LB Jeffery McCullough, Sr., Aldine Davis A big reason the Falcons made the playoffs in their first season was McCullough, who finished last season with 19 sacks.
UTL Damarren Mitchell, Sr., Magnolia West
Last season’s District 19-5A All-Purpose Player of the Year, Mitchell had 94 tackles plus 786 yards receiving in 2014.
LB Paddy Fisher, Sr., Katy
A Northwestern verbal commitment, Fisher was an all-state pick last year and the Division II-6A final’s Defensive MVP.
DB Eric Monroe, Sr., North Shore
Monroe dealt with injuries as a junior, but is considered — his scholarship offers are evidence — one of the best at his position.
DB Deontay Anderson, Sr., Manvel
A four-year letterman with the Mavericks, Anderson is among the rare national recruits invited to Nike’s The Opening twice.
DB Collin Wilder, Sr., Katy
A starter since his freshman year, Wilder is a UH verbal pledge who always seems to be at the right place at the right time.
DB Antoine Winfield Jr., Sr., The Woodlands Winfield finished with 103 tackles last season and will be counted to lead a defense in a district with powerful offenses.
P Grant Carlson, Sr., Ridge Point
An all-state and all-district pick at both punter and kicker last season, he averaged more than 41 yards a punt.
