MARGERY NICE ELSKES

1921-2016

Margery Nice Elskes, age 94, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016. Born in Houston, Texas, she graduated from San Jacinto High School and later earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Houston. She retired from BP Oil and Gas after many years of service. She was a long time active member of Spring Woods United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Oliver Shands, Jr., Jose Luis Garcia, and Sidney John Elskes; parents, Frank and Blanch Nice; and brother, Frank Allen Nice. Survived by daughters, Susan Shands Westbrook and husband William, Patricia Shands, M.D. and partner, Nathalie Martin, Peggy Shands Seddon and husband Robert, and Deborah Shands Celusniak and husband Chris; stepchildren, John Elskes and wife Cheryl, Jim Elskes and wife Edee Harvey, and Carol Ann Elskes; grandchildren, Jennifer Westbrook Waddell, Elizabeth Westbrook Treece and husband Devon, Amanda Seddon, Matthew Seddon, Frederick Seddon, Eric Seddon, Martin Celusniak, and Haley Celusniak; great grandchildren, Avery Waddell and Maxine Treece; sister-inlaw, Yvonne Nice; 4-legged grand dog, Kodi; and other relatives. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Spring Woods United Methodist Church, 1711 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, Texas 77090, with Rev.
