Earl Anthony Norra, 81, went to be with our Lord on July 6, 2016. Earl was born on November 12, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He married Shirley Ann Krause, February 2, 1958. He retired from Gulf Oil after 31 years followed by contract work for Chevron. For the last several years, Earl was a crossing guard for Austin Parkway Elementary. He was an active member of St. Laurence Catholic Church, where he was on the board for Social Concerns Ministry, and a regular volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

He is preceeded in death by his wife Shirley Krause Norra, parents, Eugene and Olivia Meyers Norra, sister, Earlene Norra DeBlanc and brother, Eugene H. Norra.

He is survived by his children, Anne Norra Dyess and husband Bobby, Earl “Chip” Norra, Jr., Michael Norra and wife Denise, Robert Norra and wife Betty, Leslie Norra, sister, Mary Clare Norra, grandchild­ren, Samantha Dyess, Casey Norra, Katy Norra, Christophe­r Dyess and Jennifer Dyess.

The children of Earl wish to share the words he wrote to them several years ago.

“When it is my time to go to the Father, I pray that I have been a spiritual Influence for my children to follow And dedicate their lives to our Lord and Savior.”

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the American Diabetes Society or the American Heart Associatio­n.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4-8 P.M. in the Chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 P.M.
