SHEREE ANN JACKSON SAWYER

Of Oakton, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2016 with her loving husband of more than 29 years, Randolph W. Sawyer, and family members, by her side. Born July 8, 1955 in Hartford, CT, Sheree grew up on her parent’s dairy farm in Sharon, CT. Sheree graduated from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Canaan, CT. She matriculat­ed and graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, as a geophysici­st. She later matriculat­ed and graduated at the University of Texas Southweste­rn Medical School in Dallas, TX becoming a Physical Therapist in 1986. She met her husband, Randy, while he was serving as a Titan II Missile Combat Crew Commander in Little Rock, AR. They were married in Little Rock in April 1987. Sheree dutifully moved all over the planet with Randy while he continued his Air Force career. She retired in 2004 while working as a PT at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX to move with Randy to Kuwait.

Sheree was preceded in death by her parents, Austin Lee Jackson and Constance Suydam Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Randolph Wayne Sawyer, and her brothers; Gary Lee Jackson and his wife Carolyn Kain Jackson of Westmorela­nd, NY; and, Randy Darryl Jackson and his wife Ann Christinat Jackson of Millinocke­t, ME. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and good friends who all loved her dearly. She will be remembered as a brilliant woman who loved life and family. She was happiest when she was outside working in her garden.

Her ashes will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made in her name to the Lewy Body Dementia Associatio­n or the National Parkinson Foundation.
