HomeAid dedicates Care project
HomeAid Houston staff and board members hosted the dedication of a HomeAid Care project for the Santa Maria Hostel lobby and intake area.
Joining HomeAid were builder captain Leslie King with Greymark Construction and her staff; David Ruiz, Houston marketing manager, Bank of America; Santa Maria’s CEO, Nadine Scamp; and vendors and trades who donated materials and services for the project’s completion.
“We were honored to be part of a team that created a fresh environment for the families residing at the agency,” said King. “New clients coming through those doors will feel welcome and inspired to reach new heights as they work toward a better life.”
The vendors and trades who helped make this Care project possible included: The Detering Company, MS International Stone, Danny Salinas with Texas Brand Custom Flooring, Bolen Electric, Sherwin-Williams Paint Co. and Jorge Arreloa of Greymark Construction.
Santa Maria is a large, multi-site residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment center and one of a very few to provide comprehensive continuum for pregnant and parenting women and their children. Clients progress toward achieving improved mental and physical health, family functioning and economic stability that supports a drug and violence-free lifestyle. Through its services, clients complete substance abuse treatment, acquire parenting skills, develop job readiness skills, set and attain educational and employment goals, gain critical life skills, get referrals and information on resources and obtain permanent housing.
Since 2003, HomeAid Houston has built projects with values totaling $11.6 million, provided 423 beds and enabled agencies to provide days and nights of care for 22,124 homeless men, women, children and veterans.
