GHBA Benefit Homes Project nails down 17 teams
The 37th annual Greater Houston Builders Association Benefit Homes Project, a 36-year-old charity fundraiser, announced the two 2017 builder/developer teams. The first team to build in 2017 will be Chesmar Homes in partnership with Newland Communities. Chesmar will build its home on a lot donated by Newland Communities in Elyson.
The second Benefit home for 2017 will be constructed by Westin Homes in the Land Tejas (Canyon Gate) community of Largo Mar. This will be the 15th lot Land Tejas has donated to the project.
Chesmar Homes
Providing homes for Houston’s home buyers since 2005, Chesmar utilizes modern building science to achieve energy efficiency, building to the stringent Environments For Living specifications. Each Chesmar MPG (Modern Design/Performance Guaranteed/green certified) home offers a high performance and comfort guarantee.
Elyson
Elyson is a new Houston-area community by Newland Communities, a private developer of planned residential and urban mixed-use communities, with communities under way in 14 states and with a track record that spans more than 45 years. Elyson joins Cinco Ranch, Seven Meadows and Grayson Lakes as the fourth Newland community to be developed in the Katy Independent School District.
Other recently completed Newland communities in the Houston area include Telfair, Eagle Springs and Summerwood. A 3,642-acre community, Elyson will devote more than 750 acres to recreation centers, parks, trails, lakes and natural open spaces, continuing the Newland philosophy of envisioning and planning communities from the ground up to create the best possible experience for people who will one day call them “home”.
Westin Homes
For more than two decades, Westin Homes has been building high-quality homes in some of the most desirable communities in Houston. Its focus has always been centered on customer satisfaction, architectural design and attention to detail.
Largo Mar
Within Lago Mar, homes built by name builders are set against a backdrop of palm trees, community lakes and lush landscaping. A broad range of amenities add to the appeal of this development.
Largo Mar is located in Texas City off I-45 south in the Galveston-Clear Lake corridor. This location is within proximity from major employment centers and sources of entertainment.
The 2016 Benefit Homes Project builder/developer team currently under construction is Trendmaker Homes building in Meridiana, a Rise Communities development. For information about the Benefit project or the GHBA, call 281-970-8970 or visit www.ghba.org.
