REPORT CARD
OVERALL GRADE
CThe Texans were within one score in the fourth quarter and were respectable up to that point. Turnovers ruined them. QUARTERBACK
DBrock Osweiler moved the team at times. He threw a touchdown pass, but couldn’t get the offense into the end zone again. His last two interceptions were killers. RUNNING BACKS
BLamar Miller did the heavy-duty work with 19 carries for 73 yards. He had a 17-yard run. They ran for 104 yards and averaged 4.5 per carry. RECEIVERS/TIGHT ENDS
CC.J. Fiedorowicz caught a touchdown pass for the team’s only TD. DeAndre Hopkins had six catches for 65 yards. Will Fuller dropped what should have been a long touchdown pass. OFFENSIVE LINE
CBrock Osweiler was sacked three times. One was his fault for holding the ball too long. The run blocking was good enough for them to average 4.5 yards. DEFENSIVE LINE
BThe linemen did another exceptional job against the run, limiting the Patriots to 98 yards rushing, including 19 in the first half. They contributed to a magnificent goal-line stand in the first half. LINEBACKERS
BBrian Cushing and Whitney Mercilus registered sacks. They were terrific against the run. Benardrick McKinney struggled in pass coverage. DEFENSIVE BACKS
CA.J. Bouye and Andre Hal intercepted passes. The defensive backs gave up too many long completions to Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan. SPECIAL TEAMS
CThey allowed a 98yard kickoff return for a touchdown. They forced a fumble that set up a touchdown. Shane Lecher put three punts inside the 20. Nick Novak kicked three field goals. COACHING B- Bill O’Brien and his staff had the Texans within one score in the fourth quarter. Once again, the offense failed them.
