ROSEMARY GARNER MOORE
1936-2017
Our sweet Rosemary Garner Moore, 80, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.
Rosemary was born on December 6, 1936 in Houston, Texas, one year before her two brothers, who were twins. After graduating from Palestine High School, Rosemary attended Tyler Junior College, where she was a member of the Apache Belles and performed at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida in 1956. Rosemary received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Rosemary spent most of her adult life in Houston, working in the oil & gas industry at Transco and Josey Oil, and retiring from Dow/ Union Carbide. She spent two years in Dublin, Ireland and introduced her children to the UK and Europe.
Rosemary loved all and was loved by all. Her deep faith, good humor and positive attitude inspired everyone who knew her. She had a song for every occasion, and her glass was perpetually half full. She did everything for her children, for which they are forever grateful.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Sullivan Garner, her father Morris Garner, and her brothers Gerald Garner and Gene Garner. She is survived by her son Hunter Moore & wife Michelle of Lake Oswego, OR, her daughter Marilyn Moore Basso & husband Marcos of Houston, her grandchildren Augustine Basso, Delphina Basso, Savannah Moore and Sierra Moore, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A remembrance will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 4:00pm at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet, Houston, Texas 77401.
