STYLE HERO:
Home: Memorial area Favorite shoes: Anything Valentino Favorite accessory: I am obsessed with bags; current favorite is Celine. Should toss from your
closet but can’t: My first Bottega Vaneta bag, which I purchased after I had my first real job during college. It was $800 and meant so much to me. Shortly after I purchased it, it got badly stained (some sort of dye). I ended up never using it, but it still sits in my closet. On bedside table: Perrier water, drawings from my kids, photo of my parents, a Bible and books I’m always “about” to start reading. Recent purchase for your wardrobe: Coats, coats and coats. I have an obsession with thin coats, shortsleeve coats, vests and anything that layers.
Most purchase:McQueen regrettablejersey Alexander dress with big shoulders last year. Must-have beauty products: Tinted moisturizer, blush, eyeliner. I hate lipstick and never wear it.
Most hated household chore: I love cleaning up but despise anything resembling unpacking, which includes emptying the dishwasher. Favorite word: Honestly Favorite food: Pizza from the northeast
Favorite(2010),and “The “The movie:Help” Intern” (2011). “Morning (2015), Anything Glory” inspirational, where someone works hard and beats the odds or makes the impossible happen. Anything that talks about love of family or a passion to achieve. If I am moved to tears or inspired, I am happy. The musical score also is very important to me.
Best advice you have received: My parents always said, “Study hard now, find out what you love and want to do, then do whatever it takes to land a job in that industry. You’ll never have to work another day the rest of your life if you are doing what you love.”
Surprising thing about you: I have loved, admired and looked up to Barbara Walters my whole life. She was the inspiration behind my entire professional path. I love smart women who are part of the conversation and solution. I met her in 2010 when I invited her to speak at the Crime Stoppers gala in Houston. I then met her again in NY the following year at a taping of “The View” where she asked me to read the intro to the commercial break with her. We stood side by side for a few moments. I nearly died. I still have the “script” taped to my bathroom mirror. I’ve looked at it almost every morning since. Hidden talent: I can belly dance. Theme song: “Every Tear Drop is a Waterfall” by Coldplay
