Motorcyclist killed in collision with cement truck

A motorcycle rider died after slamming into the back of a cement truck early Saturday in northeast Houston.

A cement truck driver was changing lanes at 3:51 a.m., attempting to make the U.S. 59 exit, when a motorcycle traveling at a fast speed slammed into the back of the vehicl, police said. The motorcycle rider died in the crash.

The accident, which occurred on Beltway 8 eastbound near Lee Road, caused the eastbound lanes of Beltway 8 to be shut down.
