DIANNE MICHELE DUNCAN

1951-2017

-

On June 23, 1951 an amazing woman, Dianne Michele, was born to Dr. Ray M. Morgan, Jr. and his wife, Lillian. On May 8, 2017, this nurturing mother, friend, companion, and loving partner joined her parents and many others she loved so dearly, in everlasting life with Jesus Christ.

Dianne, as many people came to understand, leaves a legacy of quiet intense nurture for those she loved, those that loved her, and the many who will never ever know that behind the scenes, she was the true champion they never knew they had. Yes, her ways were different ways. She never sought the glory of recognition, instead she worked tirelessly to help others achieve theirs and in so doing, achieved in ways only God can measure.

No better example of this giving spirit can be found than in the passionate support for her husband of 44 years, Mark, their sons Bryan and Christopher, their wives Susan and Casey, and grandchildren Isabel, James, Carolena, and Nils. Then there are the animals. Cats, possums, raccoons, ducks, turtles, squirrels, and just about every other critter one can think of. Intrinsically, they all knew to stop by for a meal and maybe, just maybe, if they behaved, a place to call home, to be cared for, to be beloved.

On her behalf, it is difficult to express sufficient appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and the support staff of the 4th floor Neurology group of Methodist Hospital, as well as special gratitude for Dr. David H. Baskin, Dr. H. Alejandro Preti, and Dr. H. Randolph Bailey for their heartfelt care of Dianne and her family. To all of these dedicated compassionate caregivers, thank you.

Finally, while Dianne loved flowers, her wish was for people to follow her and give more of themselves. Do as she would do. Give to her passion, children. Donate to the scholarship fund at Calvary Episcopal School, 1201 Austin St., Richmond, TX 77469 or to a children’s’ charity you are passionate about. Better yet, open your heart to the possibility of helping others achieve in life. Do so without thought to yourself. Be a servant to others. That is what Dianne did every day and would have done, or maybe even did do, for many of you.

A Memorial Service celebrating the joys in her life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Calvary Episcopal Church, 806 Thompson Rd., Richmond, TX 77469; children are welcome and a nursery provided for the youngest.
