Building relationships aids Mather’s success

- By Rebecca Maitland

When it comes to excelling in real estate sales, the tricks of the trade are not tricks.

That is something Lynn Mather, a Realtor with John Daugherty, Realtors, knows very well after over 40 years in the industry.

“It comes down to relationship building. Through hard work, perseverance and determination, I have built and maintained a loyal client base, often handling several generations of the same family,” Mather said.

Moreover, it also takes constant training and learning new technology, consistently being in touch with and communicating with clients both past and present.

“Over the many years, I have been in the business, I have developed several systems which make it easier to follow through and to follow-up.

“This gives me more time to focus on other things, like scouring the neighborhoods looking at new trends in homes, on the outside and the inside; monitoring what is selling and what is not; and devoting more time to both my church and taking care of the animals I love,” Mather said.

Mather is very thankful to be living and working in Houston.

“New neighborhoods are popping up all over town. There has been a huge surge in vertical living. Many developments are being built multifunctionally, that include homes, offices, shops, green spaces and dog parks, for example,” Mather said.

Mather has been a top producer for many years, and was inducted into the John Daugherty Hall of Fame, which testifies to her hard work and dedication to her clients.

“I thoroughly enjoy what I do and love working with my clients. My colleagues at John Daugherty, as well as my clients, have brought so much joy to my life.

“My career continues to be exciting to me, and I look forward to getting to the office every day,” Mather said.
