Okunonke says it’s an honor to be part of client’s journey
Kelvin Okunonke is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker United, Realtors whose family hails from Nigeria. He has been in Texas for more than 17 years and has been in real estate since 2014.
“Realtors work long hours behind the screen to make each transaction successful for all parties. Our jobs are beyond writing contracts and negotiating deals,” Okunonke said.
His main focus areas include Sugar Land, Richmond, Cypress, Pearland, Missouri City, Katy, Spring, the Medical Center and the downtown area.
“Knowing the areas plays a big part in helping clients by being able to recommend an area that fits their needs and a property that is right for them. Also, now is the time for buyers because properties are increasing in value,” Okunonke said.
Okunonke arrived in Houston, moved to Fort Bend County’s largest city, Sugar Land and just recently moved to Richmond, also in Fort Bend.
“I love real estate, and love helping my clients. I have helped many people from different parts of the world buy properties in Houston. Plus, it is a great feeling when my clients and I are at closing and I see tears of joy, especially first-time home buyers,” Okunonke said.
For many people, becoming homeowners is a life-changing experience, because they have worked so hard for so long to purchase a home.
“Knowing you are the Realtor they chose for this journey is an honor,” Okunonke said.
Prior to real estate, Okunonke worked with Fort Bend Independent School District as assistant site coordinator in the after-school program. Working with young students requires patience, understanding, clear communication skills and being clear about what the goals are. Okunonke brings these skills to his real estate practice — plus his market and negotiation knowledge.
Okunonke graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria with a business in management degree, which also benefits his clients. His education, along with his other skills, have led to awards and honors such as, 2016 International President’s Circle Member, 2016 President’s Club Platinum Award Member, 2016 International Diamond Society, 2015 President’s Club Platinum Award Member, and being a Five Star Service Agent.
